A yard operative was struck by a reversing forklift truck while unclipping a trailer curtain side, and the rear nearside wheel struck his leg. The company had failed to ensure pedestrians and vehicles could move safely in the loading area.
Injuries: Multiple fractures to the right foot and lower leg, a de-gloving injury, two surgical procedures, skin grafts and ongoing counselling; the worker has not returned to work.
