VNP Constructions Limited fined £7,200 after work at height risks left unaddressed for months

What happened

Inspectors found work at height risks and concerns about the competence of site management during a visit to a residential conversion project in London, and served Prohibition and Improvement notices. HSE made further visits over the following 12 months, found more breaches and served more notices; the company and its director failed to comply with multiple enforcement notices.

Regulation 15(2) of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and Section 33(1)(g) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974

The sentence

  • Fine: £7,200
  • Costs: £900
  • Other sentence: company director personally fined £10,800 plus £900 costs
